Wasswa: This is a golden opportunity for us to make amends.

Emmanuel Alex Wasswa has given his thoughts ahead of a key trip to the Arena Of Visions for the second leg of the round of 32 Uganda Cup Fixture against Ndejje University F.C.

After playing 47 minutes in the shock first leg 0-1 home loss to Ndejje, the former Ndejje midfielder asserts that the Jogoos are going to Ndejje with a stronger mindset in order to overturn the first leg deficit.

“We are very prepared for the second leg against Ndejje. The technical team has intensified the training sessions in a bid to overturn our first leg loss. We have worked on different areas of our play that is; shooting, crossing, positioning and more. The task ahead of us of eliminating Ndejje needs to create multiple chances throughout the whole 90 minutes,” explained Wasswa about how the team has prepared for the game.

Matchday 22 Preview: SC Villa vs. Bright Stars.

Sports Club Villa returns to League action this Saturday against Bright Stars at 4 pm Ugandan Time at Bombo Military Barracks Grounds.

The Jogoos started the month of May by confirming a slot in the quarter-finals of the Uganda Cup. The team did this by putting aside Onduparaka on a 1-0 goal aggregate.

Matchday 22 is the first league game of the month. The Jogoos come into this game without a win in 5 previous league games.

This game against Bright Stars is an opportunity for Kaziba’s boys to rejuvenate their league form.

When the two sides met in the first round at Kavumba Recreation Centre, the Jogoos scored once in each half to emerge as 1-2 victors. In that game, Fred Agandu scored his first goal for Villa and midfielder Nicholas Kabonge also scored his fifth of the season.

The Jogoos are 8th in the league with 31 points, 2 points below tomorrow’s opponent Bright Stars in 6th position.

Match Report: Wakiso Giants 2-2 SC Villa

Abdallah Salim came off the bench at the beginning of the second half to inspire Villa to a two-all draw against Wakiso Giants.

The first half was a Wakiso Giants show: we were so sloppy and struggled a lot in the first 45 minutes. Some of our players were struggling to keep up with their assigned roles on the day.

Wakiso Giants made their intentions known right from the start. In the 12th minute, they opened the scoring through Kipson Atuheire who fooled the defence and goalkeeper like he was going to pass only to find the back of the net.

In a bid to try and find an equaliser, Ronald Olaki raised high in an aerial duel with an opponent only to have a head collision. Olaki could not continue due to a head and was replaced by Faizol Muwawu in the 22nd minute.

Wakiso Giants continued attacking a lacklustre Villa mainly through the left side of our defence. On many occasions, they caught left back Derrick Ndahiro out of position. In an effort to catch up with his defending duties, Ndahiro made a number of fouls. The referee warned and later booked him in the 25th minute.
